Prologue

They say love arrives unannounced — in the softest glances, in the quietest smiles, in the most unexpected moments.

For Anya, Seoul was simply a new chapter — an unfamiliar city, a promising job, and the quiet hope that maybe this time, she could write a life that was her own. She had always been the gentle one, the girl with more dreams than words, more warmth than confidence. A little shy. A little lost. But always kind.

She hadn’t expected to run into Jihoon again — her younger brother’s best friend — someone she had met only briefly years ago during a summer break in Korea. Back then, he was all mischief and soft eyes, just a boy with a bright laugh and polite words.

But to Jihoon, that summer had changed everything.

He still remembered the first time he saw her — standing in her brother’s room, brushing hair behind her ear, her presence as quiet as a breeze and yet it shook something inside him. He was just a teenager then, and she was his best friend’s elder sister — off-limits, distant, and impossible. But his heart had betrayed him anyway.

Years passed, and he believed that fleeting crush had long been buried.

Until now.

Because here she was again — not a memory this time, but real. Breathing. Smiling. Still soft. Still unaware of how she’d once stolen his heart without trying.

And Jihoon?

He wasn’t that boy anymore.

He had grown, but one thing hadn’t changed — she was still the one. The only one.

His sarang.

His forever, if she’d let him.

But he knew — with her, it couldn’t be rushed.

She was delicate in a way that made him want to handle her like a secret — slowly, sincerely, with all the love he'd stored up over the years.

This time, he wouldn’t let her walk away.

Not again.
